Paul Harris is stellar, but the unsung heroes of this UK produced "Jazz thriller" based loosely on Othello are Brubeck and British trumpeter Bert Courtley. Over the course of one eventful evening, the anniversary celebration of the musical and romantic partners Aurelius Rex (Paul Harris) and Delia Lane (Marti Stevens), a jealous, ambitious drummer, Johnny Cousin (Patrick McGoohan), attempts to tear the interracial couple apart. Set over the course of a single night in a sleek jazz club carved out of a waterfront warehouse (the passion of a jazz-loving millionaire played by Richard Attenborough), All Night Long (1962) reworks Shakespeare’s Othello for the 1960s jazz culture culture of musicians and singers and nightclub showbiz dealings. The only other one that might be period correct is All Night Long, the 1962 British remake/update of Othello with Patrick McGoohan as a drummer Iago in swinging London in the sixties, but I have no idea what British jazz drummers were using at the time, so that's only a guess on my part.
