100 Days of Nonviolence

Day 13

Opening Breath and Affirmation:

Take a deep breath and say, I will be Nonviolent by giving to others in need.

Quote of the Day:

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." –Martin Luther King Jr.

Today in Social Movement History:

On January 27, 1969 Detroit auto-workers lead wildcat strikes against racism and bad working conditions.

Nonviolent Word of the Day:

CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE – The act of openly disobeying an unjust, immoral or unconstitutional law as a matter of conscience, and accepting the consequences, including submitting to imprisonment if necessary, to protest an injustice.

Activity of the Day:

Sit in a circle with others and listen as they share one thing that they are willing to do civil disobedience for. When it is your turn, share one thing you are willing to do civil disobedience for.

Respond:

List the ways that you relax and have fun as well as doing hard work. Do these ways of having fun further create the world your want to see, or take you further away from it?
